Interested in joining one of the Denver area’s top adult community concert bands? The band is composed of musicians who have high school and/or college band, orchestra, or wind ensemble experience.

The GECB requests that you contact us before attending a rehearsal to confirm opportunities we have for new members at that time.

Balanced instrumentation in a concert band is important for the quality of the sound, the ability to play a variety of pieces, and the overall experience for the players, conductors, and the audience.  It requires an adequate number of instruments in each section to produce a characteristic concert band sound.  The GECB section leaders are responsible for maintaining this balance as it relates to their section and the overall balance of the band as a whole.

When we receive an email expressing interest in joining the band, we will contact you regarding current openings for your instrument. In the event that a particular section does not have an opening, you will have the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list. As the band membership fluctuates, we will contact you to confirm your interest and availability in joining us.

Auditions are informal. Section leaders will determine your level of proficiency, place you in the proper chair and explain what is expected of you to become a fully seated member of the band.  We practice year-round, every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. We practice at Wheat Ridge United Methodist Church located at 7530 West 38th Ave in Wheat Ridge.
